Nemo's car hubcap

A close up of the hubcap detail I made for the car.  The original was made from a 28" convex acrylic shoplifting/security mirror I bought on ebay------I then added the studs and made the mold to pour the 6 hubcaps for the car. This time the resin had to be different because it had to be flexible ---------and give a bit if hit so as not to be too fragile------it took a gallon of resin for each hubcap at a cost of around $175.00 U.S.--------The centers are solid brass. I found this medallion in an antique store and made a clay mold of it---then I added to it and made a master mold in green casting sand-------------I melted down scrap brass and poured the castings and then spent quite a while polishing each one of them---but at Least i got the look I wanted---
